Paul interjú: Damon and Elena come back together?

With all the new characters coming to The Vampire Diaries, it’s easy to wonder who will pair off with whom. But we never considered throwingStefan Salvatore’s (Paul Wesley) hat into the dating ring. After all, he’s totally smitten with Elena (Nina Dobrev), right? Well, when Paul spoke toHit Fix at the San-Diego Comic-Con, he said there have been rumors swirling that his vampire character might be getting a new love interest.

Cue the record scratch. “Stefan is being her rock, but at a certain point Elena may blame him, and… he may turn to some darkness. I’ve overheard some rumors about Stefan having a new love interest, but I don’t know if that’s true or not,” Paul says.

Holy Stromboli. In Paul’s opinion, Elena is going to be occupied with Damon (Ian Somerhalder). He said, “Elena’s remember some things from when Damon compelled her, so I think there’s a bit of building back to romance with the two of them.” One of those memories that comes back to Elena is Damon professing his love, and it’s sure to cause some unfinished business to bubble up between the two.
