1, Will Elena Come Between Stefan and Damon?
Team Delena. Team Stelena. Regardless of which side you come down on with that epic debate, hopefully we can all agree to be what Vampire Diaries executive producer calls “Team Salvatore.” When she spoke to reporters recently at a screening of Season 3, Episode 20, “Do Not Go Gentle,” she explained where the brothers are headed for the rest of the season, MTV reports.
“They will get stronger instead of weaker as brothers in spite of this looming conflict, this looming decision," said Plec. The executive producer has been saying Elena (Nina Dobrev) will make a choice between Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) in the Season 3 finale, but she allayed fears that it would put an end of the Salvatores’ recent bonding. "There's a really nice scene in next week's episode that shows that they might just survive this no matter how it plays out, and that when all is said and done... 'bros before hos.' The cliché is that the girl tears them apart, so how can we let the girl bring them even closer together?" Plec explained.
Julie’s just setting herself up for threesome jokes, isn’t she.
2, Is Someone Leaving Mystic Falls?
Many members of The Vampire Diaries crew have left town and come back. Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) just returned from a trip to Denver,Bonnie (Kat Graham) spent the summer visiting relatives, and Tyler(Michael Trevino) is always going on spirit quests to find himself and break sire bonds. Even Stefan (Paul Wesley) went on a Ripper road trip. So maybe we shouldn’t be too worried that the Salvatore brothers are making a pact that one of them will leave Mystic Falls, right?
According to E!, Ian Somerhalder says Damon and Stefan have come up with a very mature way of handling their love triangle with Elena (Nina Dobrev). "The brothers both agree, 'If she goes for you, I'll leave town. And if she goes for me, you leave town. So this doesn't get weird.' And they both agree on it,” says Somerhalder. “And that's what's so cool is that by virtue of this decision the boys have ultimately become so insanely close. And I love that I think it's really cool that that's what happens."
Does anyone else get the feeling that Elena isn’t going to be cool with this plan? Maybe she really will tell the Salvatores that she’s choosing neither of them…
3, Will We See Katherine Before the End of Season 3?
It’s unlikely Rebekah (Claire Holt) will be daggered for long — Klaus(Joseph Morgan) tends to like his baby sister’s help in his plots. Yet The Vampire Diaries could always use more bad girls, which is whyKatherine’s (Nina Dobrev) absence has been keenly felt since Season 3, Episode 9, “Homecoming.” The doppelganger just dropped some vevain bombs, said, “ba-boom,” and peaced out. It’s about time for her to slink back into town, right? Not so fast. Executive producer Julie Plec told reporters, “You will not see hide nor hair of Katherine until Klaus is gone for good. So his survival ties in to her appearance, or lack thereof,” The TV Addictreports. Ah, those self-preservation instincts.
Plec also teased that Kat’s existence means not even Elena (Nina Dobrev) is safe when it comes to deaths in the Season 3 finale. “I mean, she’s got a Katherine. She’s got god knows how many doppelgangers are out there,” she pointed out.
Even Elena could die? Alright, we’re calling it. Elena for vampire queen in 2012!
